Welcome to Eat Better Pasta! We’ve had a few people ask about Kaslo Pasta and why we sell it so I thought we’d tell a bit of the story of the product we proudly sell on our site. Grab a fork and get ready to twirl your way through this story.
A Heritage of Flavor
Kaslo Sourdough Pasta’s story begins in the picturesque town of Kaslo, nestled in the heart of British Columbia, Canada. This charming locale, known for its stunning natural beauty and vibrant community, is where the adventure of Kaslo Sourdough Pasta took root. The creators, Silvio and Gillian, were inspired by their love for traditional sourdough bread and the desire to craft a pasta that embodies the same wholesome goodness.
The Sourdough Difference
What sets Kaslo Sourdough Pasta apart from the rest? It’s all in the fermentation! Traditional pasta is made with standard dough, but Kaslo Sourdough Pasta is crafted using a unique sourdough fermentation process. This not only gives the pasta a distinct, tangy flavor but also enhances its nutritional profile. Silvio has worked tirelessly to perfect the art of turning sourdough into pasta in a sustainable, repeatable process, using spring water piped from way up in the mountains above Kaslo.
Sourdough fermentation helps break down gluten and phytic acid, making the pasta easier to digest and more nutritious. It’s a win-win for your taste buds and your tummy!
Craftsmanship You Can Taste
Every batch of Kaslo Sourdough Pasta is made with meticulous care and attention to detail. The pasta is crafted in small batches to ensure the highest quality and consistency. The use of organic ingredients and traditional methods reflects the makers' commitment to sustainability and health.
Versatility in Every Bite
One of the best things about Kaslo Sourdough Pasta is its versatility. Whether you’re whipping up a quick weeknight meal or preparing a gourmet feast, this pasta fits the bill. Its robust flavor and hearty texture make it the perfect canvas for a variety of sauces, from simple marinara to rich and creamy Alfredo. But the most popular by far is their radiatori pasta. Once you buy a bag you’ll know why. It has a great surface that allows just the right amount of sauce to stick to it. We try them all but this the one that gets the most attention.
Join the Sourdough Revolution
At Eat Better Pasta, we believe that good food starts with great ingredients. Kaslo Sourdough Pasta embodies this philosophy perfectly. Its rich history, unique fermentation process, and dedication to quality make it a standout choice for pasta lovers everywhere.
